The Interactive Prototype provides technical / kinetic guidance. It visually depictis a card expanded, collapsed, validated and submitted.
This "above the fold" design utilizes the Collapsible Content Card pattern. The cards are mutually exclusive, meaning that each card can be expanded or collapsed individually but expanding one card will collapse all other cards. This 'one at a time' behavior prevents the user from becoming overwhelmed with choices. The cards are passive in that they can be expanded or collapsed at will. The user can engage them in any order, however they are hard-wired with a preferred sequence. This preferred sequence is evident by the card's positional layout (top-bottom / left-right) and also nuanced in its behavior. For example after the Express Checkout card has been submitted the SMS card will automatically become expanded. Resulting in a passive yet guided customer journey.
The cards are asynchronous. When a card is submitted it will temporarily display a spinner on a faded background. The page will not be refreshed.
Once the card has been successfully submitted its caption will display congratulatory micro-copy making it clear that the operation was a success. Ideally the caption message would contain a confirmation, a noun and a verb. For example 'Thank You for subscribing to our emails!'. A successfully submitted card will be collapsed if there is another yet to be submitted card available. The next card in the sequence will then be expanded.
A Collapsible Content Card may have a small 'i' icon in the lower right corner. This icon will toggle / expand the card if secondary actions or messaging exist.
The stated business objected is to acquire new omni-channel touch points without cannibalizing existing customer engagement touch points. Meaning the IA should present the post check-out solicitations in a manor in which SMS sign-ups DO NOT negatively impact email sign-ups. I believe the goal has been achieved and the analytics support that conclusion.
The user's participation in Installment Payments will have no effect on the post checkout experience.
